The National Park Service says the Ice Age National Scenic Trail is actlually almost 1200 miles, or a little less than 2000 km. long. It's all in the state of Wisconsin (USA), and it's maintained entirely by volunteers. From Potawatomi State Park in Door County, the trail meanders all the way south to Janesville in Rock County near the Illinois line. Then it heads north again, past Devil's Lake and the Wisconsin Dells, up to the Nicolet and Chequamegon National Forests, then over to the Minnesota state line on the St. Croix river.
